What Is Eataly?

If you’ve ever wandered through one of Eataly’s bustling markets in New York, Chicago, or Rome, you know it’s not just a restaurant, it’s an experience.

Founded in Turin, Italy, Eataly is built around a simple philosophy: “Eat, Shop, Learn.”
Inside, visitors can explore:

  • Multiple full-service restaurants serving regional Italian cuisine

  • Grab-and-go counters offering everything from espresso to focaccia sandwiches

  • Market shelves lined with imported pastas, sauces, olive oils, wines & chocolates

  • Cooking classes and tastings that teach guests how to create authentic Italian food

With more than 50 locations worldwide

The Location: A Historical Property Re-Used

Eataly’s West Palm Beach location will be in the Harriet Himmel Theater building at 700 S. Rosemary Avenue, right in the heart of CityPlace.

This historic structure, originally built in the 1920s, has long been a landmark in downtown West Palm Beach. As a part of Related Ross's mission to set West Palm Beach up as a bustling city for working professionals, companies & tourists, CityPlace is undergoing a lot of construction.

 Why CityPlace?

CityPlace (formerly Rosemary Square) has been steadily evolving into a mixed-used downtown hub of dining, retail, offices, and culture.

According to CityPlace’s development team, the addition of Eataly will serve as an anchor tenant in the next phase of CityPlace’s transformation, drawing new foot traffic, boosting local business, and positioning West Palm Beach as a serious contender in South Florida’s culinary scene.

What Guests Can Expect

While full design renderings and restaurant details haven’t been released yet, early reports hint at a 30,000-square-foot build-out with multiple dining concepts, open kitchens, and outdoor seating.

Expect the signature Eataly mix:

  • Casual and fine dining options featuring regional Italian dishes

  • A marketplace stocked with imported specialties and local collaborations

  • Events and experiences, from wine tastings to pasta-making classes

Why This Matters for West Palm Beach

Eataly’s arrival signals a new chapter for downtown West Palm Beach. Beyond just adding a high-profile restaurant, it highlights the city’s growing appeal to global brands looking to invest outside Miami.

Local analysts expect it to drive significant attention to CityPlace, boost local employment, and strengthen West Palm Beach’s reputation as a vibrant & walkable city.

When Will It Open?

The anticipated opening is Fall 2025, though an exact date hasn’t been announced. CityPlace’s official website lists Eataly as “coming soon,” and construction updates are expected to roll out throughout the end of the year.
